1. Counselling and Psychotherapy

Chris is able to provide counselling and psychotherapy to adults experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, adjusting to change, communication problems, addictions, sexuality and gender identity issues.

Counselling generally refers to brief treatments (10 sessions) focusing on short term issues and behaviour changes typically due to a specific crisis. Psychotherapy is longer term and focuses on developing stronger self-awareness through modifying behaviours, thoughts and emotions by gaining insight into developmental issues and life experiences.

Counselling is offered through face to face, telephone and Skype.

Chris works largely within a person-centred, client-led approach in the following techniques and modalities:

  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Psychoanalysis

2. Supervision

Chris is a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor who can ensure supervisees practice within acceptable professional standards as well as providing evidence-based assessments and treatments. Supervision can be provided for both professional development and accreditation purposes. 

 

3. Psychological Interventions

Chris is able to provide a range of professional psychological interventions in areas such as rehabilitation consultancy and disability services including vocational assessments, reports and ongoing case management and disability behavioural support plans.

Chris is SIRA registered and has experience with Workcover. 

Chris has many years experience working with NDIS clients for counselling and assessments.
